03/25/2008 - BOOK VOYAGERS SERIES II TONIGHT Session 4: DETERMINATION: Just do it. BOOK VOYAGERS with Jim Harriman, storyteller and writer, as our discussion leader. Stop by the library ahead of time to check out these books for this meeting:(READ THEM TOGETHER BEFORE TONIGHT'S GATHERING) FOLLOW THE DRINKING GOURD, THE DANCING MAN, THE VERY BEST OF FRIENDS. Our program runs from 6:45pm - 7:45pm and is open to parents and children (ages 6-10). Registration is suggested but not mandatory. This program series is co-sponsored by the Conn. Humanities Council and the Andover Friends of the library. Program is free for all participants.

09/19/2007 - Starting Up Storytime Bill Dougal's original songs range from silly to serious, but all are catchy & fun to listen to as he plays his guitar and sings. September 19th beginning at 10:30 am. Cowboy Bill will be our start-up event for fall storytime at the lbirary. Call to sign up and think of bringing along a friend for this special event. 10/03/2007 - "So you wanna be a knight, do you?" Swordsmanship Demo. Wednesday evening from 6-7pm at the Andover Elem. Cafeteria Western Swordsmanship Technique & Research (WSTR), an Andover-based historical fencing study group presents a program highlighting: The Story of Sir William (Europe's greatest Knight) Learning about swords demonstration of "trial by combat" (choreographed fight and breakdown of moves) the final chapter in Sir William's life and play "Swordsman Says" All ages are welcome, we will meet at the school cafeteria for this program.
04/18/2007 - STORYTIME At the Library Storytime for those who can enjoy a couple of short stories and share some special time with friends. Ages vary from 1 to 4, generally preschoolers. Parents are encouraged to try it and decide if it is something their child is ready for. Our morning includes: Two stories Show and tell Craft or art project Please ask your child to bring with them something from home to share during our Show-N-Tell time. Mrs. Campen loves to spend time talking to the children and has an interactive flavor to her hour. We gather at 10:30am and finish about 11:15. [Nothing is hard and fast about the end time though.] WE DO NOT MEET DURING ANDOVER ELEM. OR RHAM SCHOOL VACATIONS. WE ALSO DO NOT MEET DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS DUE TO OTHER SCHEDULED PROGRAMMING.
05/05/2007 - Library Friend's Book Sale Andover Friends of the Library will hold a book sale at the Congregational Church Conference House. All proceeds go to benefit the Anodover Public Library.
03/13/2007 - Fantastic Fantasies! Book Voyagers a series of free programs at Andover Public Library March 13th 6:45PM - 7:45PM The Prydain Chronicles by Lloyd Alexander Book I: The Book of Three Attention children in grades 4-6. If you enjoy the Harry Potter books, you'll love this discussion series. Come explore four fantastic and fabulously fun fantasy series. Our discussion leader will be Jim Harriman, storyteller, teacher and writer. If you participated in the Harry Potter discussions then you'll remember our friend Jim and what a wonderful leader he is. We hope to see you there!
04/10/2007 - Fantastic Fantasies Artemis Fowl Series Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer. Attention children in grades 4-6! Come join us for a lively discussion with our fantastic leader, Jim Harriman. He's a teacher, storyteller and writer, he also lead the Harry Potter discussions last year. We have multiple copies available here at the Andover Public Library for you to check out, so come down, we'll be waiting for you!
